Day 1: Hello Sydney – First Impressions
Hi there! I just landed at Sydney Airport and was greeted by Mauzee Holiday’s friendly driver who made my arrival feel easy and warm.
First thing that struck me? The bright, crisp air and the sight of the Sydney Opera House peeking out from the skyline on my drive in.
After checking in at my hotel near Darling Harbour, I grabbed a flat white (Aussies take their coffee seriously!) and wandered around. Saw locals jogging, kids playing by the fountains, and street performers doing didgeridoo music — my first taste of Australian city life.
Little thing I noticed: Even the birds here — like the cheeky ibis — will try to steal your sandwich if you’re not careful!
Day 2: Rocks, Views & Bondi Blues
After a good night’s sleep (thank you, blackout curtains!), I joined my guide for a Sydney sightseeing tour.
We started in The Rocks, Sydney’s oldest neighbourhood — beautiful cobblestone lanes, hidden pubs, and tiny boutiques selling local art.
Next, we stopped at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for that postcard-perfect shot of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. After all the history and city vibes, we headed to Bondi Beach. I dipped my feet in the Pacific, watched surfers do their thing, and had the classic fish & chips lunch.
Tip: Walk part of the Bondi to Coogee coastal path — you’ll see ocean pools and cliffs that will make your camera very happy.
Day 3: Blue Mountains & Cuddly Koalas
Today was adventure day! We drove out to the Blue Mountains National Park, a World Heritage gem.
Standing at Echo Point, the iconic Three Sisters rock formation looked surreal through the morning mist.
I braved the Scenic Railway — the world’s steepest passenger railway — and took the Skyway cable car across deep canyons. After exploring the cute village of Leura, we wrapped up at Sydney Zoo, where I finally met a koala (yes, they’re as sleepy and adorable as you think!).
Tiny moment: Kangaroos hopping by while I munched on a lamington cake.
Day 4: Gold Coast – Sun, Surf & Chill
After a short flight, I checked into my hotel in the Gold Coast — Australia’s beach playground.
I spent the afternoon walking barefoot along Surfers Paradise, watching the waves and sipping coconut water.
Locals are super friendly here — I chatted with a surfer who’s been riding these waves for 30 years!
Day 5: Sea World Magic
Bucket list day for my inner kid — I spent the whole day at Sea World Gold Coast! Watched dolphins leap through the air, saw stingrays glide by in Shark Bay, and got splashed by seals during the show.
Their 4D Planet SOS movie was cute too — it teaches kids (and grown-ups) about how to protect our oceans.
Small detail: Bring a light jacket — it can get breezy by the water.
Day 6: Lights, Camera, Thrills – Movie World
If you love superheroes and theme parks, Warner Bros. Movie World is a must! I screamed my head off on the Superman Escape roller coaster — a ride that hits 100 km/h in 2 seconds!
Met Batman, snapped selfies with Bugs Bunny, and caught the Hollywood stunt show.
Tip: Go mid-week if you can — fewer queues.
What to Pack for Australia
Here’s what I wish someone told me before I left:
Layers, layers, layers: Sydney mornings can be cool, afternoons warm, Gold Coast sunny.
Sunscreen & hat: The Aussie sun is intense.
Good walking shoes: You’ll do city walks, beaches, and maybe light trails.
Swimsuit & flip-flops: You’ll want a dip in the ocean or hotel pool.
Power adapter: Australia uses Type I plugs.
Reusable bottle: Tap water is safe to drink everywhere.
Health & Safety Tips for Australia
Sun safety: Slip, slop, slap — slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat.
Stay hydrated: It gets dry, especially inland or after beach days.
Respect wildlife: Kangaroos and koalas are cute, but watch from a safe distance.
Emergency number: 000 is the local emergency helpline.
Unique Experiences to Try
Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb: Epic sunrise or twilight climb.
Bondi Icebergs Pool: Swim in an ocean pool overlooking crashing waves.
Gold Coast Hinterland: Short day trip to waterfalls and rainforest walks.
Street food & local cafes: Australia’s brunch culture is legendary.
Watch out for Aussie slang: It’s fun — try saying “arvo” instead of afternoon!
Best Ways to Travel from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka & Delhi
Many travellers ask: “What’s the easiest way to get to Australia?”
Here’s what worked for me:
Maharashtra (Mumbai, Pune): Direct flights to Sydney or Melbourne via Singapore, Dubai, or Kuala Lumpur.
Kerala (Kochi, Trivandrum): Fly via Singapore or Dubai — Kochi to Sydney is popular with Singapore Airlines or Emirates.
Karnataka (Bangalore): Great connections via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, or Bangkok.
Delhi: Direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane — so convenient!
